Earlier today, we passed along a leaked photo that revealed what is alleged to be the phone's display settings menu. LG G7 ThinQ owners will have the option of going un-notched if they desire. Google Chrome Getting Extra Security To Prevent SAML Attacks

Image
Google today announced a new change that is coming to Chrome which looks to add an additional level of security to proceedings. However, this is not going to be something that most individual users will encounter or even need to be aware of. This is due to the change relating to the use of Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML). This is largely considered to be the standard protocol used for third-party authentication pages and is therefore likely to be used by a number of businesses and organizations that have a sign-in process as part of gaining access to a site. It is in these instances where the change will primarily be seen and why the announcement came through the company's G Suite blog, in contrast to a dedicated Chrome announcement – in spite of this being a Chrome-wide change. Starting from May 7 those signing in to a site which uses SAML as an authentication process will be redirected to a more typical 'Google login'-looking page to verify who they are once

Report Says 15.8 Million New SIMs Added In Europe In 2017

Image
A recent report from GlobalData has now shown that the growth of SIM cards in Europe increased by 15.8 million in 2017, fueled primarily by M2M cards. That's actually a much slower pace than in previous years, representing approximately a 41-percent decrease from 2015. The analytics firm chalks that decline up to a lower rate of mobile terminations and a reduction in dual SIM cards. Those mostly fell in Central and Eastern Europe but GlobalData also says that SIM card market will continue to grow regardless. However, as already mentioned and based on an accompanying chart, that growth will depend predominantly on machine-to-machine (M2M) cards. For those who may not be aware, those particular SIM cards are not those used in a mobile device but are associated with end terminals or devices in the IoT category. The rate for handsets and standard data SIMs, meanwhile, is projected to be mostly flat over the next five years. Breaking down those figures, Western Europe's SIM marke

How YouTube Plans To Balance Creator Freedom & Cleaning Up

Image
It's no secret that video platform YouTube's single largest challenge is keeping a fair balance between a strict, authoritarian hold on the kind of content that can be served and monetized, and allowing creators the freedom to fill the service with the kind of content it needs, but it seems like the service may be on its way to a definitive solution for that issue. YouTube has reportedly set its sights on further improving its algorithmic community enforcement programs, enhanced with machine learning, by bringing in more human talent to help filter content. For the time being, all content that will go on Google's Preferred Partner program is hand-filtered, and YouTube has a help desk of sorts that's designed to help get human eyes on bad content before it goes live. The details of the plan are deceptively simple. YouTube's algorithm in its current form is sufficient to run about 75% of the moderation that currently happens on the service. The AI is largely able

Amazon increasing Prime membership fee from $99 to $119

Image
Apr 26 AT 5:29 PM Alex Wagner 0 Comments Amazon is about to raise the price of Prime for the first time in four years. Amazon Prime will become more expensive on the U.S. on May 11. Specifically, the price of an annual membership will increase from $99 to $119 . This new price will go into effect for existing Prime subscribers' renewals on June 16. "We still feel this is the best deal in retail and we work to make it better and better every day," said Amazon CFO Brian Olsavsky. Amazon Prime offers a lot of benefits beyond the free two-day shipping that it's known for, like Prime Video and Prime Music streaming, same-day delivery and two-hour Prime Now delivery in eligible areas, and a discount on Amazon Music Unlimited streaming. This price increase isn't insignificant, but if you regularly use those services, Amazon Prime could still be worth it at its new price. What do you think of this news? If you're an existing Amazon

Paladins Strike for Android and iPhone wants to be the ultimate mobile MOBA

Image
Paladins Strike is another MOBA that should not be confused with Paladins: Champions of the Realm, a free-to-play hero shooter game for PC and consoles, even though they have many things in common, including the fact that they are developed by the same studio – Hi-Rez Studios. Soft-launched last year, Paladins Strike is now available worldwide on both the Android and iOS platforms. It doesn't cost anything to download and play the game, but it does come with a very solid in-app purchase system, which can't be avoided if you want to become a pro player. The game features more than ... #Google #Android #Smartphones #OS #News @ndrdnws #ndrdnws #AndroidNews
