Vivo Z1 Announced With 4GB Of RAM, Android 8.1 Oreo & Notch

Vivo has announced a new smartphone in China, the Vivo Z1. This is the first handset in the company's new "Z series" of devices, and it actually looks similar to some of the company's recently introduced smartphones, as it comes with both a glass back and a display notch, not to mention that its bezels are quite thin. The Vivo Z1 sports a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, a vertically-aligned dual camera setup on the back, and all of its physical keys are located on the right. The phone's display features rounded corners, and the back side of the device is also curved.

As far as specs are concerned, the Vivo Z1 is a mid-range handset. This device is fueled by the Snapdragon 660 64-bit octa-core processor which is clocked at 1.8GHz, while the phone sports a 6.257-inch fullHD+ (2280 x 1080) IPS display. The Vivo Z1 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage (expandable up to 256GB), while it features two SIM card slots, and we're looking at a hybrid dual SIM setup here, which means you can use the device's secondary SIM card slots in order to insert a microSD card and expand the device's internal storage. 13 and 2-megapixel cameras are included on the back of the phone, while a single 12-megapixel camera sits on the device's front side. An LED flash is placed on the back of the device as well, while a 3,260mAh battery comes with the device as well. Android 8.1 Oreo comes pre-installed on the Vivo Z1, with the company's Funtouch OS 4.0. Bluetooth 5.0 is a part of this package as well, while the Vivo Z1 measures 154.81 x 75.03 x 7.89mm, and weighs 149.3 grams.

The Vivo Z1 comes in three color variants, Black, Blue, and Red, and it is priced at 1,798 Yuan in China, which translates to around $280. Pre-orders for the phone kick off today, and the phone will become available for purchase on June 4 in China. It is still unknown whether Vivo plans to sell this phone outside of its homeland, but if it does, such info will be announced in the near future.
