Samsung Intros Galaxy Wide 3 With 2GB Of RAM & Android Oreo

Samsung has announced its third-gen Galaxy Wide smartphone, the Galaxy Wide 3. This smartphone got announced in South Korea, Samsung's homeland, and is an entry-level smartphone. In terms of the design, it actually looks like some of the company's older phones, it sports a physical home key below the display, which is flanked by two capacitive keys. It is worth noting that its home key does not double as a fingerprint scanner, as a fingerprint scanner is not located anywhere on this phone. The power / lock key sits on the right-hand side of the Galaxy Wide 3, while its volume rocker buttons are located on the left. The Galaxy Wide 3 actually comes with quite a bit of bezel on it, while Samsung's logo is visible on both the phone's front and back sides. One camera is located on the back of the phone, and right below it, you'll notice an LED flash.

The Samsung Galaxy Wide 3 features a 5.5-inch HD display, and it is fueled by an octa-core processor that is clocked at 1.6GHz, though Samsung did not mention what SoC exactly. The phone sports 2GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage (expandable up to 400GB via a microSD card). A 13-megapixel camera (f/1.7 aperture) is placed on the back of the Galaxy Wide 3, while a 13-megapixel camera (f/1.9) sits on the phone's front side. A 3,300mAh battery is also included in this package, while Android 8.0 Oreo comes pre-installed on the device, along with Samsung's custom UI, of course. Two SIM card slots are available here, while Samsung also included Bluetooth 4.1 here. The Galaxy Wide 3 comes with 4G LTE connectivity, though its bands are quite limited, as the device is made for the South Korean market, and it almost certainly will not launch outside of Korea. The phone's dimensions and weight are still not available.

The Samsung Galaxy Wide 3 comes in Black and Silver color variants, and it is priced at 297,000 won ($275) in Samsung's homeland. The device will go on sale later today, and it was announced in partnership with SK Telecom, and it will be sold as an SK Telecom exclusive in the country. At the phone's launch event, Samsung mentioned that it sold over 1.3 million Galaxy Wide 2 units, and that 70-percent of its customers for that phone were over 40 years old.
