Samsung launching 128GB and 256GB versions of Galaxy S9 family

Photos and videos are getting bigger every year. The Samsung Galaxy S9 can shoot in 4K resolution at 60 FPS, and that's a lot of data. It can also do super slow motion at 960 FPS at 720p. That will eat up your storage quick, so be thankful Samsung has kept the microSD slot!

But if that's not enough for you, Samsung has announced that it is launching two new storage variants of the Galaxy S9 and S9+. You'll be able to pre-order 128GB and 256GB models starting May 1 in the US.

The Galaxy S9 will cost you $769.99 for the 128GB and $819.99 for the 256GB, while the Galaxy S9+ will cost $889.99 for the 128GB and $939.99 for the 256GB. Each model comes in Coral Blue, Lilac Purple, and Midnight Bkack and will retain the microSD slot, so you can have massive amounts of storage if you really need it.

The devices will be available on May 18 exclusively on Samsung.com, which makes sense as they're sure to be niche options. We can't imagine most people needing such large amounts of internal storage. The microSD slot covers most people's storage needs. Pre-ordering will also get you a free Gear IconX 2018 or a Gear S3 Frontier for $99.
