Samsung Galaxy A6 Mid-Range Lineup Leaks In Official Renders

Samsung's Galaxy A6 lineup of Android mid-rangers leaked yet again prior to its official release, with the new handsets also receiving certification from China's telecom regulator TENAA in recent days, and both sightings being in line with previous reports about the devices. The larger set of images was obtained by German tech outlet WinFuture and can be seen in the gallery below, with the materials apparently being mined directly from one of Samsung's websites. The renders confirm Samsung's next mid-range series will consist of the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6 Plus, both of which will sport Super AMOLED Infinity Display panels with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

The smaller device will sport a 5.6-inch HD+ (1,480 x 720) screen, whereas the larger one will have a 6-inch FHD+ (2,220 x 1,080) display, with the successors to the Galaxy A5 (2017) series being positioned as more affordable alternatives to the Galaxy A8 product family Samsung introduced late last year, offering modern-looking devices at value-oriented price points. Samsung's Exynos 7870 chip should power both models, clocked at a maximum operating frequency of 1.6GHz. The base models will offer 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space, though select markets may receive variants with twice as much flash memory.

The Galaxy A6 will be identified by the model number SM-A600 and sport a 16-megapixel rear camera mounted behind an f/1.7 lens, whereas its front-facing sensor will offer the same resolution and use an f/1.9 glass module, according to the newest leak. The Galaxy A6 Plus will have the same rear camera but support it with an additional 5-megapixel (f/1.9) unit, in addition to boasting a 24-megapixel (f/1.9) front-facing camera. Besides having rear-mounted fingerprint readers, the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6 Plus will also offer facial recognition support, with Samsung's recently discovered marketing materials specifically mentioning that functionality. The Galaxy A6 is listed as being fueled by a 3,000mAh battery, while its larger counterpart should ship with a 3,500mAh cell. The Samsung-made Android phone lineup is expected to debut in Europe, China, India, and a number of other markets in the coming weeks, starting at approximately $360.
