128GB & 256GB Samsung Galaxy S9 Models Coming To The US

128GB and 256GB models of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus are coming to the United States next month and will become available for pre-orders tomorrow before officially releasing on May 18, Samsung said Monday. The South Korean tech giant will be accepting advanced orders on the new devices directly from its online storefront which will be selling the phablets exclusively. The 128GB variants of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will be priced at $769.99 and $889.99, respectively, whereas the models with twice as much storage space will retail for an extra $50, Samsung confirmed. For added context, the 64GB versions of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus are sold for $719.99 and $839.99 unlocked, i.e. are $50 cheaper than their 128GB counterparts. The new storage options of both Android flagships will be available in Midnight Black, Coral Blue, and Lilac Purple, i.e. the same colors Samsung already commercialized in the country with the base variants of its latest high-end offerings.

Consumers who pre-order any one of the newly announced models will also be able to choose between a free pair of Samsung's Gear IconX (2018) wireless earbuds which usually retail for $199 or a $180 discount on the Gear S3 Frontier smartwatch which will hence set them back only $99. The Seoul-based firm is accepting pre-orders until May 17 and it's presently unclear whether it's planning on expanding the availability of its more premium Galaxy S9 models to more countries going forward. The same devices already debuted in Samsung's home country but haven't made their way to any other market so far.

Originally released in mid-March, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus are said to be performing in accordance with their shipment expectations so far but their South Korean sales have reportedly hit an all-time low, industry sources from the Far Eastern country claimed earlier today. The American arm of the company is presently also offering a free DeX Pad with every purchase of the 64GB variants of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, with the gadget itself otherwise retailing at $99.
