Samsung Pay makes online payments simpler and safer with Visa Checkout

Samsung today announced a new strategic partnership with Visa to bring Samsung Pay to online merchants. Later this year, Samsung Pay users will be able to pay for their online purchases using the company’s payment service at countless merchants globally where Visa Checkout is accepted.

Support for Visa Checkout is going to make the online payment experience for Samsung Pay users simpler, faster and more secure. The checkout experience will rely on the fingerprint sensor for authentication of payments, eliminating the need for users to add their payment card data on every website.

Users with fingerprint authentication-enabled Samsung devices will only need to click on this button and touch the sensor for the payment to be processed. They won’t have to enter a user name or password for each purchase.

“Our partnership benefits not only Samsung Pay users but also hundreds of thousands of online merchants who are looking for effective ways to increase their checkout conversion rates,” said Injong Rhee, CTO of the Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics.

Starting later this year, the Visa Checkout/Samsung Pay co-branded button will start appearing online at merchants across the globe.
